Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water Framework Location : Oswestry Salary : £50,000 to £65,000 package I'm working with one of the UK's most respected infrastructure contractors, who have an excellent track record delivering essential works in the water sector. With a strong pipeline of work secured through their long-term framework with United Utilities, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Oswestry. The Role As Senior QS, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of a portfolio of water sector projects, working closely with the project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality. This will involve: • Developing and maintaining project budgets and cash flows, and ensuring that the projects are delivered within budget. • Coordinating and managing the procurement process for all project-related goods and services. • Negotiating and agreeing contracts with suppliers and contractors. • Managing and resolving any commercial disputes that may arise during the project. • Providing commercial advice and support to the project managers and other stakeholders. • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all project-related costs and revenues. • Identifying and mitigating any commercial risks associated with the projects. • Working closely with the project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that the projects are delivered to the required quality and within the agreed timescales. • Maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity at all times, and ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, and will have at least 5 years' experience in a similar role. You will have a strong understanding of the water sector and the commercial management of construction projects, and will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects on time, to budget and to the required quality. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
