Senior Quality Manager (w/m/d)

Full Time Senior

Job description

At Instagrid, you're part of the Clean-Tech Revolution: You bring clean energy to your region, support professional users in switching from combustion generators and enable them a safe, efficient, clean, and quiet energy solution.

Your Mission

As Senior Quality Manager (w/m/d), you establish the quality fundamentals and maturity of our hardware portfolios in a dynamically growing company. You take overall responsibility for product quality throughout the entire lifecycle – from development quality in early design and prototype phases to series quality at our contract manufacturers.

Your role involves coordinating quality across multiple stages of electronics manufacturing and box-building, ensuring that products leaving our supply chain meet our specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. You drive the introduction of normative framework systems and FMEA methods forward and work closely with teams like Product Compliance, Engineering, and Test & Validation.

You foster a culture of zero-defect thinking and continuous improvement – internally in Engineering and Operations as well as in the supply chain network. Externally, you represent the company in quality and compliance matters to contract manufacturers, electronics and component suppliers, customers, and partners.

Your Impact

  • Responsibility for development quality throughout the entire product lifecycle: embedding quality requirements in early design, prototype, and pilot phases through DFMEA, Design Reviews, technical risk analysis, and qualification planning, as well as transitioning new products into series maturity from a quality management perspective.

  • Steering series production quality at contract manufacturers in electronics manufacturing and box-building, including PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, and First-Article releases, prototype testing, line clearance criteria, and monitoring of manufacturing errors.

  • Comprehensive steering of the field quality cycle: from field returns and warranty analyses to 8D and root cause analyses with internal teams and suppliers, as well as corrective and preventive measures that feed into design and process improvements.

  • Building and operating a supplier quality framework for electronics and mechanical components, including supplier qualification, process and production audits, and supplier development for critical Tier-1 and Tier-2 partners.

  • Participation in building and maintaining our quality management system according to ISO 9001 and adjacent industry standards, leading internal audits, and preparing and accompanying certification and surveillance audits.

  • Building a quality reporting with relevant quality KPIs, regular reporting to management, deriving concrete action plans with measurable impact, and translating data into strategic quality decisions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field.

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in quality management in electronics manufacturing or box-building, ideally in a fabless or contract-manufacturer-driven environment.

  • Fundamental practical expertise in both development quality (DFMEA, Design Verification & Validation, Qualification, NPI Quality) and series production quality.

  • Experience in building and operating ISO 9001-compliant quality management systems as well as demonstrated competence in designing necessary quality processes and structures – with the maturity to bring pragmatism and precision into harmony in a scale-up environment.

  • Outstanding analytical and structured problem-solving skills, as well as decision-making strength – even in situations with uncertainties and under time pressure.

  • The ability to build lasting relationships and secure communication with stakeholders from Engineering, Operations, supplier network, and customer side on all management levels.

  • Fluent German and English language skills.

Your Benefits

  • Flexible working hours

  • 30 vacation days plus 5 special leave days and 5 baby-leave days

  • Sponsorship for Urban Sports Club membership

  • Discounts for sustainable online shops

  • Work in a company at the forefront of technological innovation

  • Free choice of operating system (macOS or Windows)
