Senior QA Engineer

Senior Automation Quality Engineer Location: Remote / Hybrid (South Africa) Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent Reports to: QA Lead About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript. This position involves designing automation frameworks from the ground up, embedding testing earlier in the development lifecycle, and ensuring high-quality releases by working closely with product, development, and operations teams. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop automation frameworks using Playwright and other relevant technologies. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize test automation opportunities. • Develop and maintain a suite of automated tests that cover key business processes and user journeys. • Work closely with the QA Lead to ensure alignment with testing strategies and priorities. • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on coding standards, best practices, and overall quality. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve test automation processes. Requirements: • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Automation Engineer or similar role. • Strong expertise in Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript. • Experience designing and developing automation frameworks from the ground up. • Excellent understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile and Scrum methodologies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
