Job description
A modern start-up company is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their supportive, friendly start-up product team
Love shaping architecture, building software product for scale? Able to guide more junior engineers?
You’ll thrive in an agile, fluid environment with plenty of variety across software design, development, and DevOps
Be a part of a great team working on a world changing global tech product that needs your help scaling?
What you’ll bring:
• BSc Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years in backend software engineering deploying Python code into production
• At least 2+ years as a Senior Developer giving technical input and mentoring more junior software engineers to be their best
• Do you enjoy writing features & functionality for a product to scale?
• Deep production-level Python skills - packaging, testing, performance tuning
• Proven cloud experience in Azure, GCP or AWS
• Strong architecture skills: distributed systems & event-driven design
• DevOps mindset: CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability while focusing on development
• Collaborative, outcome-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy the challenges of building a product in a good start-up team
What you’ll get:
• Work with Python, AWS (serverless, event-driven), CDK, DynamoDB, IoT Core
• Lead architecture and code-quality initiatives, mentor engineers, set standards and patterns and help scale a product
