Senior Python Engineer - CAD, 3D Geometry & Machine Learning (m/w/d)

We are digitizing procurement in the plastics industry and making it more efficient, sustainable, and future-proof. Our vision is a KI-supported B2B platform that rethinks supplier search, RFQ processes, and project management.

To further develop our platform, we are looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer with extensive experience in processing CAD and 3D data. You will develop central components for the geometric analysis of plastic parts and connect classical software development to Machine Learning and modern KI technologies.

Tasks

• Development and further development of our Python backend
• Processing, analyzing, and evaluating 3D CAD data
• Developing geometric algorithms and feasibility analyses for plastic parts
• Developing procedures for geometric similarity searches and classifications
• Building ML prediction models based on historical data
• Integrating LLMs to extract structured technical information
• Responsibility for architectural decisions and technological turning points
• Ensuring high code quality, performance, and scalability
• Technical leadership in the team through code reviews, best practices, and mentoring

Qualification

• At least five years of professional experience in software development with Python
• Fundamental practical experience in processing and analyzing CAD or 3D data
• Experience with STEP, B-Rep, Meshes, or comparable geometric representations
• Safe handling of geometric algorithms, spatial data structures, or Computational Geometry
• Experience with libraries or frameworks like OpenCascade, PythonOCC, trimesh, Open3D, VTK, or comparable technologies
• Experience in designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures
• Practical knowledge of Machine Learning and data-driven model development
• Very good technical understanding and a structured and self-responsible working style
• Pleasure in solving complex technical questions and sharing knowledge within the team
• Good German and English skills
