Job description
Your key accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: * Provide a prosecution service for the area of responsibility * Monitor the provision of briefs of evidence by police for use in summary trials and for committal proceedings to ensure the highest quality of briefs is maintained. * Liaise, consult and negotiate with members of the Queensland Police Service, the legal profession, government agencies and the community towards the establishment of effective working relationships and the resolution of issues. * Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, case law and policies to inform prosecution decisions. * Provide expert advice and guidance on prosecution matters to other prosecutors, police and stakeholders. * Represent the Office in court and at conferences, meetings and other forums as required. * Contribute to the development of policy and procedures for the Office and participate in quality assurance initiatives. * Participate in training and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge. * Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives. * Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion principles and practices.
