Job description
My client works closely with private corporate developers on some of the most interesting land development, unit title and commercial property projects in New Zealand. They want a lawyer who is keen to take on real responsibility, enjoys being close to the action and is ready to become a trusted adviser on long running projects.
As a 4 year PQE Solicitor you will be involved from day one. Some of your work will sit at the front end, like reviewing acquisition terms, working through consent conditions, helping negotiate agreements and preparing presale documentation that fits the market and the project. Other tasks will be right in the middle of the action. Think managing finance rollovers, updating presale agreements, helping the sales team with queries, reviewing subdivision drafts, preparing documents for settlements and keeping multiple parties aligned.
You will also play a key part in the nuts and bolts of the developments, including drafting subdivision documentation, supporting deeds of lease, setting up societies and helping shape the legal structure of future unit title projects. Your input helps senior team members keep ahead of emerging issues and maintain strong relationships with developers, lenders, consultants and the wider project team.
The practice works on large projects involving complex layers of documentation. You will assist with development funding, construction contracts, consultant agreements and the work that sits behind staged unit title projects.
This suits someone who enjoys variety, who is comfortable working directly with clients and consultants, and who gets energy from seeing major projects move forward because of their involvement. You do not need to arrive knowing everything.
