Job description

Deutsche Bahn is not only one of the most important mobility service providers, but also one of the largest engineering firms in Germany. To realize and sustainably maintain new bridges, tunnels, train stations, tracks, and signaling systems, more than 10,000 engineers currently work with us – far from enough. As an engineer at Deutsche Bahn, you can plan, manage, or oversee something that will last: the infrastructure for future generations. We are looking for you as a Senior Project Engineer: Civil Engineering Facilities (w/m/d) for the large-scale project "Ausbaustrecke Pinneberg - Elmshorn" for DB InfraGO AG at the Hamburg location, starting as soon as possible. The overall project of the ABS Pinneberg – Elmshorn involves the four-track expansion over a length of approx. 16 km. In addition to the civil engineering facilities, the expansion includes numerous bridge structures, traffic stations, and other measures. Contribute to a demanding large-scale infrastructure project in Schleswig-Holstein. The further development of railway transport in the state of Schleswig-Holstein is partly your responsibility and a key to the success of the "Starke Schiene" (Strong Rail) initiative.
Your tasks:
✓ As a Senior Project Engineer, you will take responsibility for complex investment measures in the civil engineering facilities trade across all planning phases in the large-scale project "Ausbaustrecke Pinneberg - Elmshorn".
✓ Furthermore, you will be responsible for the contractor's performance delivery in compliance with the contract in the track construction trade within the ABS Pinneberg - Elmshorn project, in close cooperation with project management, taking into account costs, deadlines, quality, and building law requirements.
✓ You will participate in the timely tendering and awarding of planning, construction, construction supervision, and testing services.
✓ Coordination with planners, consultants, construction companies, and authorities, as well as coordination of the contractually compliant execution of control, planning, and testing services, is also part of your area of responsibility.
✓ You will ensure compliance with the requirements from the VV Bau (Construction Regulations) and the applicable technical regulations, guidelines, and legal provisions.
✓ You are responsible for determining the required possessions (sperrpausen) for the measures to be implemented and for transferring them into the corresponding registration process.
✓ Additionally, you will act as a mentor for junior project engineers and support them in their initial project experiences.
Your profile:
✓ The basis of your career is a successfully completed degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Construction), or a comparable field.
✓ Furthermore, you can demonstrate several years of professional experience in construction project management or planning of construction projects, as well as experience in tendering and awarding of engineering and construction services.
✓ You possess in-depth knowledge of public procurement law (VOB, HOAI) and internal railway project management systems such as iTWO, SAP, and comparable applications.
✓ You are proficient in handling common software applications.
✓ You are characterized by strong communication skills, quick comprehension, teamwork ability, and the capacity to win over all project stakeholders for common goals.
✓ A high degree of initiative, organizational skills, and an independent, goal-oriented, and flexible way of working, combined with the willingness to contribute new ideas, complete your profile. What is important to us: Our aim is to offer all candidates with equal qualifications the same opportunities to join us. We actively promote diversity and collaboration within our teams. We value every application, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion, worldview, disability, age, duration of unemployment, or sexual orientation and identity.
Benefits:

✓ Fascinating projects and tasks at one of the most diverse employers in the country challenge your skills and await your signature.
✓ We promote flexible, individual working models and support modern work arrangements, such as mobile working, where operationally possible. Equal opportunities and self-determined participation for severely disabled persons and their equivalents, as well as respectful collaboration, are firmly anchored principles within the DB Group. Therefore, severely disabled persons and their equivalents will be given preferential consideration in cases of equal qualification.
