Senior Project Manager O&A Projects

We are looking for a new colleague for our Design & Construction Projects team. As a water supplier to nearly six million customers, we are continuously involved in renewing, expanding, and renovating our drinking water infrastructure. Some of this is underground, but we also have important installations above ground. Within the Projects team, you will lead renovation and new construction projects for (parts of) treatment plants and pumping stations. The projects you will lead in this role have a financial scope of up to approximately 2 million euros. You will manage multiple project teams, encouraging them to work result-oriented together with our internal and external partners. No two days are the same, and you contribute to something important: Winning, purifying, and delivering 1 billion liters of top-quality drinking water every day. Every drop counts!

What you will be working on

Vitens possesses extensive knowledge of water infrastructure, enabling us to take the lead in our projects. As a senior project manager, you will utilize the expertise of our own engineers, the planners from the Asset Management department (your internal client), and the technical specialists from the Drinking Water Operations department. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with our external partners: engineering firms, suppliers, and contractors. Your specific tasks include:

• project control in terms of time, budget, and scope;

• analysis of project risks and timely intervention to mitigate them;

• managing project teams, fostering independence;

• motivating, coaching, and, if necessary, addressing team members regarding the quality of their contribution.

What you bring

We are particularly interested in who you are and what you can do. It is important that you are yourself and bring humor, flexibility, and at the same time, steadfastness. Furthermore, we expect you to have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing infrastructural/technical projects

• Knowledge of Prince2 as a project management methodology

• IPMA certification and knowledge of drinking water processes would complete the picture, but are not a requirement

How we take care of you

• A salary up to €5,756 gross per month (scale 10). In addition, you will receive a Flexible Benefits Budget (FAB) of 16.51% on top of your salary. This budget includes, among other things, your holiday pay and year-end bonus. This is in accordance with CAO 2026.

• The possibility of working from home, including a home office allowance for an ergonomic workspace.

• 31.5 vacation days.

• €1,000,- advice budget every 3 years.

• A function-related company car that you can also use for private purposes if desired.
