What will you be working on?

Vitens possesses a vast amount of knowledge about water infrastructure, enabling us to effortlessly take the lead in our projects. As a Senior Project Leader, you will be a point of contact for fellow project leaders and will operationally manage the team within the region you are assigned to. You will make optimal use of the expertise of our colleagues, both from within and outside our department, for current issues, thereby contributing to knowledge management within the team. Furthermore, you will be responsible for analyzing financial forecasts, project evaluations, and reports, identifying risks, and providing advice where necessary. Internal and external stakeholder management is also important in this role, and you can contribute to Vitens' development through working groups. You are a connector, you enjoy dealing with various issues, and you like to think and work along with the team on developments.

Your concrete tasks are:

- Project control regarding aspects of time, budget, and scope;
- Analysis of project risks and timely intervention to contain them;
- Assembling and managing effective project teams, fostering independence;
- Motivating, coaching, and, if necessary, addressing team members regarding the quality of their contribution;
- Supporting the team manager with tasks at an operational and tactical level.

About the department

Within the Design & Construction department, you will be responsible for the Veluwe project region and will work closely with your fellow project leaders who, together with engineers, work on various distribution projects. For overarching issues, you will seek collaboration with senior colleagues within (and outside) the regional team. Additionally, the regional team consists of project employees responsible for the realization of connection pipelines. The total team is a pleasant dynamic mix of young and old, creating a good collaboration where you can effectively utilize each other's expertise.

What knowledge and skills do you bring?

Within the D&C department, we are fully engaged in further developing our working methods and collaboration. Therefore, we are looking for a Senior Project Leader who not only manages projects but also advances people and teams. You look beyond daily operations, identify improvement opportunities, and take initiative to design processes more smartly and effectively, without compromising on quality, safety, or collaboration. You understand that sustainable change takes time and know how to involve people in this process. You are strong in content and a natural connector. Colleagues know to find you as a sparring partner and coach. You are visible within the team, provide feedback respectfully, and are also open to feedback from others. Precisely when interests diverge, you bring calm, structure, and direction. You encourage ownership, address colleagues where necessary, and set a good example yourself. For you, the senior role is not just a job title but a way of working. In addition, you have at least three years of experience as a project leader, preferably within underground infrastructure or a comparable technical environment. You are strong analytically, work in a structured manner, and can maintain an overview in complex projects. With your coaching style, organizational sensitivity, and decisiveness, you make a significant contribution to the development of both the team and the collaboration with our internal and external partners.

This is how we take care of you

As a Senior Project Leader, you will strengthen our team for a minimum of 32 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week. For this, you can count on the following employment conditions (based on 40 hours per week):

• A salary up to €5,877 gross per month (scale 10, in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement as of July 1, 2026). Additionally, you will receive a Flexible Employment Benefits Budget (FAB) of 16.51% on top of your salary. This budget includes, among other things, your holiday pay and year-end bonus.
• 31.5 vacation days per year.
