Senior Rail Infrastructure Project Manager

This is what you will do

As a senior project manager, you will lead complex infrastructure projects that contribute to the growth and development of Amsterdam. For example, the expansion of Station Amsterdam Zuid, where you will ensure more efficient passenger flow and better accessibility. You will oversee the entire process from project intake to completion, ensuring everything stays within time, budget, and quality standards. Your expertise can be used for projects related to metro, tram, and energy.

You will develop and maintain relationships with (potential) clients and other stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations and a solid action plan. Additionally, you will guide the technical and administrative process, from preparing tenders to creating detailed plans for research, design, and realization. You will ensure that all involved parties are well-informed and that communication proceeds smoothly.

In collaboration with the project team, you will ensure the right composition and necessary knowledge and capacity. You will manage the collaboration with suppliers and subcontractors and ensure good coordination between all parties. You are also responsible for tenders and contract management. During execution, you will closely monitor progress, risks, and quality. You will ensure a safe working environment and make the right process agreements with those involved. Should the project deviate from the original scope, you will initiate escalation in a timely manner and ensure the correct decision-making.

You take responsibility for both the quantitative and qualitative results of the project and ensure the team works safely and efficiently. You have a proactive attitude, recognize opportunities, and seize them to advance the project. Furthermore, you are skilled in formulating clear reports and documents, contributing to effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's work and thinking level.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager, environmental manager, and/or technical manager in public transport/rail infrastructure or comparable projects.
• Knowledge of project leadership and project management methods.
• In-depth knowledge of technology and processes for the development and management of rail infrastructure.
• Some experience with UAV-GC and RAW specifications.
• Knowledge of environmental networks in urban districts and experience with rail infrastructure in metro or tram areas.
• Experience with the processes of suppliers for works on tram or metro rail infrastructure.
• Strong subject-matter process knowledge for the technical substantive contribution in projects.
• A VCA VOL certificate.

• A salary between € 4,504 and € 6,406 (scale 11) based on 36 hours. Placement will be based on education and relevant work experience.
