Senior Project and Planning Engineer

Job Summary

Control, follow up, and support strategic projects in all stages of the FEL1 to FEL4 phases.

Responsibilities and Tasks of the Function

Define, implement, maintain, and support areas with standards, methodologies, and processes for application on projects including:

  • Implementation of global recognized project management methodologies;
  • Development and maintenance of standards and procedures using best practices in project management;
  • Evaluation of compliance with standards in projects;
  • Evaluation of Quality of project deliverables by phase (FEL1 to FEL4);
  • Prepare performance reports and present to responsible parties with recommendations for solutions;
  • Control and follow up on key indicators (KPIs), establishing and following a plan of action to ensure its fulfillment.
  • Establish, monitor, update schedule, budget, and scope of a project, identifying deviations, proposing alternatives, and supporting PMs in taking actions;
  • Evaluate and manage risks: execution of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, with issuance of consolidated reports and calculation of contingency. Follow-up on the management plan to mitigate project risks.
  • Support PM in preparing technical requirements for service contracting for projects (engineering or construction);
  • Evaluation of technical proposals, including quantitatives against technical requirements and macro-project schedule;
  • Plan the portfolio of projects: "Pipeline" of projects based on schedules provided by PMs (after conducting a critical analysis);
  • Develop strategic and managerial presentations, reports, and dashboards for project planning, management, and control:
  • Evaluate the status report of projects reported by PMs, regarding coherence between reported data and actual status identified in the area;
  • Update the global portfolio of projects with main information on each project, participating in strategic stakeholder meetings to clarify necessary explanations and validate physical progress, with monthly issuance of consolidated reports "Dashboard";
  • Evaluation of follow-up reports issued by contractors and specialized consultants.
  • Develop a final consolidated report for project conclusion at each phase (FEL1 to FEL4).
  • Evaluate and follow up on the supply plan of projects for adherence to schedule.
  • Develop Capex and Opex reports for projects in support of PM, aligned with engineering.
  • Maintain a database of prices for Capex, as well as standard templates for quantity and CPU to facilitate work on preparing Capex for projects worldwide;
  • Develop necessary documentation for project insurance (RE and RC)

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced English
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Masters or MBA in Project Management
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer
  • Mastery of the following tools: MS Project, Power Point, and Excel
  • Desirable to have mastery in Power BI and Primavera
