Senior Product Manager – Private Cloud (w/m/d)

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for our private cloud based on VMware by Broadcom as an independent, sovereign product. You define vision, strategy, and further development of the platform and ensure that it is optimally aligned with business and IT requirements.

In this role, you position our VMware-based private cloud consciously as a product with a clear value proposition – not just as infrastructure.
You act at the interface between technology, business strategy, and organization and steer the strategic further development of our private-cloud platform in line with corporate goals.

Aufgabenbereich

• You define the product vision and strategy for our private cloud (VMware by Broadcom) including clear goal images, benefit argumentation, and differentiation against public cloud offerings.
• You are responsible for the entire product lifecycle – from discovery to delivery to continuous further development.
• You make fundamental make-or-buy decisions in the context of platform services, tooling, and partner solutions.
• You develop and prioritize a strategic product roadmap based on business value, platform capabilities, and customer requirements.
• You analyze market and technology trends (e.g. VMware by Broadcom, cloud-native, sovereignty, compliance) and lead concrete product initiatives.
• You steer stakeholders across all levels – from platform, architecture, and DevOps teams to top management and C-level.
• You create transparency over priorities, dependencies, and goal conflicts and moderate strategic decisions sovereignly.
• In your role as Product Owner, you prioritize the backlog along business outcomes and platform value.
• You formulate clear user stories and epics and ensure high time-to-market while maintaining platform stability.
• You work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams together.

Qualifikationen

• 5–7+ years of experience in technical product management, ideally in the context of private cloud, cloud platforms, hosting or managed services.
• Experience in productizing infrastructure or platform services.
• Very good understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware) and private-cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud-native principles.
• Experience with modern IT architectures (Microservices, API-First) as well as integration with hyperscalers.
• Safe handling of agile methods (Scrum, Kanban) and product roadmapping.
• Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Productboard or comparable systems.
• Data-driven decision-making based on KPIs and platform metrics.
• Strategic thinking, high decision-making ability, and the ability to set standards and goal images.
• Excellent communication skills and diplomatic skill in dealing with different stakeholders.
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
