The difference compared to other "digital tax firms": Over half of our team are software developers. You will directly shape what they build - and thus how AI-supported tax consulting will look in this industry at all. Your tax knowledge will shape the product, not just its application.

About the role

Tax consulting is one of the most complex products to design: deadlines, documents, queries, regulations – and an AI that is taking over more and more of it. Good design is crucial for us to ensure clients trust us and our team works more efficiently.

You will design both sides: the portal through which clients work with us, and the tools with which our firm's team works hand in hand with AI. You will work directly with Product Management, Engineering, the Tax team, and the Founders – without an agency, without handover loops.

What you will do

• Design Service Blueprints and the Customer Journey E2E – from onboarding and document upload to the approval of the tax return

• Define interfaces where people can review, correct, and approve AI suggestions – quickly, understandably, with few errors

• Translate complex tax situations so that clients understand them without needing further clarification

• Observe, interview, and test users – both clients and the firm's team – and translate insights into decisions

• Build prototypes that feel real: in Figma, with AI tools, or directly in code

• Build and be responsible for our Design System – components, patterns, tonality

• Work with Engineering until release and measure with key metrics whether the design is effective

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally in a SaaS, FinTech, or a comparably complex environment

• A portfolio of products that you have designed end-to-end and that are live – including the justification of your decisions

• Strong interaction design skills and a high visual standard

• Experience with data-intensive interfaces and complex workflows

• Methodological proficiency in User Research and Usability Tests

• Experience in building or maintaining a Design System

• Daily work with AI tools and your own opinion on what good design for AI products looks like

• Structured thinking: First principles, MECE, clean reduction of complexity

• German at least C1, English at least C1

Nice to have

• Experience in designing AI or LLM-based products (Human-in-the-Loop, explainability, trust)

• Frontend knowledge (HTML, CSS, React) or prototyping with Claude Design, Claude Code, Lovable, or similar

• Exposure to finance, accounting, or taxes – as a professional or as an annoyed user

• Experience as the first or only designer in a start-up
