Senior | Principal Engineer | Architect | distributed systems @ 1dea

We are looking for candidates for the role of Senior | Principal Engineer | Architect -> hands-on work, independent position.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building backend or distributed systems.
• Very good knowledge of programming languages such as Scala or C# or Java or Go -> the project is greenfield, so we are open to candidates with different stacks, requirements are not yet defined. We are looking for candidates who treat programming languages as a tool, and a proactive approach and a broader view of the problem is your way of operating.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
• Database design skills (relational models, normalization, performance optimization).
• Experience in concurrent, parallel programming and designing scalable systems.
• Very good communication and inter-team collaboration skills.
• English at B2+ / C1 level -> international cooperation
• Higher technical education

Location: Krakow, office visits 2-3 days / week

Employment form: B2B, we are open to candidate proposals | contract signed directly with the client, no intermediaries, long-term cooperation. Client from the USA, work in PL time zone.

About the position

Greenfield project - designing and creating a large enterprise-class platform from scratch.

We are building a new generation MES (Manufacturing Execution System) that will support high-volume production of advanced silicon photonics-based devices. This system is the operational backbone of the production process, integrating shop floor management, data systems, and external platforms (ERP, suppliers, and contract manufacturers).
