Senior Plant Biologist

Job Description The Fuels and Low Carbon Technology (F&LCT) is a team of over 300 technologists, scientists and engineers who provide pioneering solutions for the development and deployment of low-carbon fuels and technologies. As a Senior Plant Biologist, you will be part of this team, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy innovative plant-based solutions that can help reduce carbon emissions. Your main responsibilities will include: • Developing and implementing new plant-based solutions for low-carbon fuels and technologies • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate plant-based solutions into bp’s operations and products • Conducting research and development to improve the efficiency, scalability and sustainability of plant-based solutions • Providing technical expertise and guidance to colleagues on plant-based solutions • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in plant biology, biotechnology and low-carbon fuels and technologies. Job Requirements: • Ph.D. in Plant Biology or related field • 5+ years of experience in plant biology or a related field • Strong understanding of plant biology, biotechnology and low-carbon fuels and technologies • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Experience with data analysis and interpretation • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
