Senior Planner - Homeware

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner to join their team in Durbanville, Western Cape. This role is responsible for planning and forecasting the merchandise range within a designated business unit, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct range reviews and make recommendations aligned with budget and strategy.

• Prepare bottom-up plans that support range review strategies.

• Translate bottom-up plans into detailed buy plans with supplier timelines.

• Lead monthly reporting meetings focusing on Open-to-Buy (OTB), Inventory Health, and Age of Stock (AOS), ensuring alignment with division budgets.

• Propose new orders in collaboration with the Buyer.

• Manage stock levels through new orders and clearance strategies.

• Monitor and control spend against the approved budget.

• Oversee store allocations in line with strategic objectives.

• Perform ad-hoc trend analysis and reporting as requested by executive leadership.

• Identify and implement process improvements within the planning function.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Merchandise Planner with a focus on replenishment.

• Strong background in data analysis, forecasting, and inventory management.

• Good understanding of the retail industry.

• Proficient in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
