Senior OT / SCADA & Automation Engineer (80-100%)

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Senior OT / SCADA & Automation Engineer (80-100%) with immediate effect.

Your Responsibilities

• Concept development, engineering, integration, commissioning, and further development of SCADA, process control, and automation systems for energy, industrial, and infrastructure facilities

• Development and implementation of OT architectures and their integration into existing system and network landscapes

• Technical responsibility for SCADA, control technology, and automation solutions within customer projects

• Integration of control systems, PLCs, RTUs, protection and field devices, as well as communication and network infrastructures

• Contribution to the creation of system, network, and security concepts for critical infrastructures

• Specification of systems and components, as well as technical evaluation and coordination of suppliers and external partners

• Support for project management in technical and organizational matters, as well as taking responsibility in customer projects

• Planning and execution of integration tests, verification, commissioning, and acceptance

• Analysis and resolution of complex faults and disturbances in SCADA, OT, and automation systems

• Development and implementation of operational, maintenance, and upkeep concepts

• Design and implementation of OT cybersecurity, considering customer-specific and overarching security requirements

• Consideration of relevant standards and norms such as IEC 62443, IEC 61850, IEC 60870, and ISO 27001

• Technical documentation and ensuring comprehensible system and plant documentation

• Support in pre-sales with technical solution concepts, architectural questions, and quotations

• Knowledge transfer and coaching within the team

Your Qualifications

• Completed university degree or higher technical education (HF/FH/ETH/University) in electrical engineering, automation technology, systems engineering, computer science, or a related field

• Several years of professional experience in the planning, implementation, integration, commissioning, or support of SCADA, process control, or automation systems

• Experience in the environment of energy supply, power plants, substations, industrial plants, or critical infrastructures

• In-depth knowledge of IT/OT architectures, industrial communication systems, and OT networks

• Experience with SCADA and control systems, for example, Siemens SICAM, Hitachi MicroSCADA X, or comparable platforms

• Good knowledge of industrial communication protocols and standards, ideally IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/-104, as well as other OT/industrial protocols

• In-depth understanding of OT cybersecurity and security-by-design in industrial environments

• Knowledge of relevant security and quality standards, particularly IEC 62443 and ISO 27001

• Experience in system integration, testing, commissioning, and fault analysis

• Enjoyment of collaborating with clients, project managers, engineering teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders

• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with a high demand for quality

• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken, and good English language skills
