About the Company

For an internationally leading technology company in optical precision engineering, we are looking for you as a Systems Engineer for optical solutions. The environment is technically demanding – deep optics expertise, systematic thinking, and the ability to translate complex requirements into innovative systems count here.

You will be responsible for the system integration of core products – from requirements analysis to series production. You will work closely with design, electronics, and software, drive technical innovations, and ensure the quality of precision instruments.

As the position is in Switzerland, we will support you step-by-step with your relocation / move if you are not currently living in the Lake Constance region.

• Technical project responsibility across all development phases – from ideation to series production and beyond
• Systemic interface coordination: Connecting optics, design, electronics, and software into a coherent overall system
• Requirements management and specification development based on market needs and customer feedback
• Quality assurance through systematic interface validation between disciplines
• Technical communication with internal and external partners – as the contact person for complex technical questions
• Supplier coordination and support in production readiness and quality processes
• Continuous professional development: Monitoring technology trends and innovative material developments
• Independent research and development projects (up to Technology Readiness Level 6) with the goal of positioning as an internal and external expert

Qualifications

What you bring

• Master's degree from ETH/FH or equivalent university degree in natural sciences or engineering
• At least 3 years of practical experience in product development with a systems perspective
• Specialized expertise in optical systems; practical experience in specialized application fields is an advantage
• Confident project work in interdisciplinary teams
• Analytical strength, systematic problem-solving skills, clear communication abilities
• Familiarity with modern development methods
• Fluent in German and English
