Senior Night Carer - Residential Care Home

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Residential Senior Carer at a Barchester care home, you'll look after the different needs of our residents to enable us to deliver quality, person-centred care and support. You will be responsible for leading a team of care staff, which will include training, supervisions and delegating duties on shift. You will also support with the administering and ordering of medication, reviewing and updating resident care plans and risk assessment, and liaising with GP's, district nurses and other healthcare professionals. You will be expected to work flexibly, including night shifts, weekends and bank holidays, and be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to maintain accurate records and reports, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the care home's policies and procedures, and participate in staff meetings and training sessions. You will be responsible for ensuring that all residents receive a high standard of care, and that their needs are met in a person-centred way. You will also be expected to work closely with other departments, such as the activities team, to ensure that residents receive a holistic approach to their care. You will be required to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the care home's policies and procedures at all times. You will also be expected to be flexible and adaptable, and to be able to work in a variety of settings, including the care home, the community and in residents' own homes.
