Responsibilities

• Planning, conception, implementation, and further development of complex network and security infrastructures
• Analysis of existing network and security architectures as well as development and implementation of optimization and migration concepts
• Conception and migration of firewall and perimeter infrastructures, especially in the environment of Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper
• Administration and further development of LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructures
• Planning and implementation of security standards and network architectures for national and international locations
• Development and implementation of firewall policies, security functions, and security standards
• Conception and introduction of security management and monitoring solutions, including FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
• Support in the setup, further development, and operation of Security Operation Centers (SOC)
• Analysis and resolution of complex incidents in the network and security environment as well as taking over 3rd level support and escalations
• Execution and support of migrations and rollouts in complex and distributed IT infrastructures
• Monitoring of the network and security infrastructure to ensure availability, stability, and security
• Technical consulting in the selection and introduction of new security and network technologies
• Conducting training and knowledge transfer for technical teams and SOC employees
• Taking over partial project management tasks as well as coordination of technical work packages and involved teams
• Coordination with internal and external stakeholders as well as technical departments

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in the IT sector, ideally as an Information Technology Assistant (ITA) or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in the field of networking, IT security, and network administration
• In-depth knowledge in the planning, conception, and operation of network and security infrastructures
• Very good knowledge of handling Fortinet and Cisco technologies
• Experience with other manufacturers such as Palo Alto, Juniper, and Aruba is an advantage
• Knowledge of firewall architectures, firewall migrations, and security policies
• Experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing, and switching
• Knowledge of network protocols and routing technologies, for example OSPF and BFD
• Experience with 802.1X, SSO, proxy solutions, and security monitoring
• Experience in the SOC environment as well as in the operation and further development of security infrastructures
• Knowledge in the area of troubleshooting and 3rd level support
• Experience in creating and implementing technical standards and architectural guidelines

Certifications

• Cisco CCNP Routing & Switching (Must have)
• Fortinet FCNSP
• Fortinet NSE 1 / NSE 2
• Fortinet NSE 7

Personal Requirements

• Ability to explain complex technical issues in an understandable way
• Willingness to take responsibility in demanding network and security projects

Especially Relevant Project Experience

The focus of the activity lies on the conception, migration, and operation of modern network and security infrastructures. Extensive experience with firewall and network environments from Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, and Aruba is available. Furthermore, the position holder has practical experience in setting up and further developing Security Operation Centers.
