Senior .NET Application Architect
Job description
More than 2000 professionals at Smals embrace the future every day by committing to ICT for Society. High-tech ICT systems ensure greater efficiency in our clients' important social responsibility domains such as work, family, and health. The eHealth platform, a secure exchange platform for medical information, will eventually make paper doctor's notes and prescriptions obsolete. Additionally, the ICT service Dimona ensures that the Social Security Office (RSZ) can rapidly evolve the social protection of 4 million employees, regardless of how quickly they change jobs. Convenient? Absolutely, and challenging too. Job Description As a Senior .NET Application Architect, you will strengthen a dynamic Enterprise Architecture Team of 4 people.
You will guarantee that the architecture of the IT system and landscape continues to evolve. You will help and support the multidisciplinary development teams to deliver quality according to the objectives of the client and product management.
You will make the architectural vision understandable and applicable for the teams. You will clarify the value and operation of models, standards, and patterns. You will also provide support during implementation.
Specifically, you will define the application and integration architecture for a complete rewrite of a major business application in a Cloud-based environment. You will contribute to the further development of a microservices architecture. Profile You have a Master's degree or can demonstrate equivalent experience. You have at least 10 years of experience as a hands-on .NET Application Architect and at least 5 years of experience in an Agile architecture environment (SAFe – Scaled Agile Framework).
You have demonstrable experience in:
- Application architecture in a .NET environment with microservices
- Setting up and using Azure Cloud computing services, gRPC, Dapr, Azure SQL
- Setting up and using container solutions (e.g., ACA, AKS)
- NServiceBus
- Architecture frameworks and tooling (Domain Driven Design, Event-Based Architecture, Sparx EA, DrawIO, …)
Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL is an advantage.
Business knowledge of the social status of the self-employed is a plus.
You achieve results autonomously and responsibly.
You can engage in strategic discussions with C-level stakeholders while pragmatically interacting with development teams (developers, testers, ...).
As a team player, you stimulate co-creation as a servant leader to arrive at a supported solution.
You express yourself fluently in French and English. Offer
- You will have a varied, challenging, and socially relevant job where you contribute to IT solutions that play an important role in society. Our slogan 'ICT for society' perfectly reflects this.

- Through our 'Benefits at Work' platform, you enjoy great discounts on fashion, electronics, day trips, holiday accommodations, …
- We implement an equal opportunities policy and value equal pay, among other things.
