Senior Motion Designer (m/f/d)

re:mood is a Cologne-based crew of creative minds, producers, camera nerds, editors, and event technicians. We combine two worlds: The high-end aesthetic of film production with the energy of live events.

To elevate our visual worlds to the next level, we are looking for you as a Senior Motion Designer (m/f/d) to expand our creative team. The focus of your work is the use of AI: You develop and design with AI tools and shape how we use them in our productions.

Responsibilities

Within a 40-hour week, you will be the creative engine for our moving images and take care of the following tasks:

• Creation & Animation: You will create high-quality 2D and 3D animations, motion graphics, and visual effects – both for first-class film and video productions and for large-scale live event productions (LED walls, projections).
• Planning & Conception: You will accompany the complete creative process – from the initial idea through storyboards and styleframes to the final render.
• AI-powered Production: You will work daily with AI tools, develop and design with them, and further expand our AI workflows.
• Teamwork: Close collaboration with our editors, producers, and video technicians to ensure that your visuals fit perfectly into the overall concept and our stage setups.
• Asset Management: You will prepare graphics and videos in a media-appropriate manner, paying attention to complex formats, resolutions, and playback systems (e.g., Pixera as a media server).
• Quality Assurance: You will ensure that our output always meets the visual "re:mood" gold standard.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: You have completed a degree in Motion Design, Media Design (or a comparable qualification) OR bring with you as a talented career changer, extensive professional experience and an impressive portfolio/showreel. Additionally, you have at least 5 years of professional experience in Motion Design. As a Senior, you will lead projects independently from the idea to the final render.
• Software Expertise: Cinema 4D, Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud (especially After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop) are your second home. Experience with Unreal Engine or Notch is a big plus!
• AI Experience: You work confidently with AI tools for image, video, and animation and know their strengths and limitations in everyday production.
• Passion: You have an excellent sense for aesthetics, timing, typography, and visual storytelling. You are passionate about implementing large projects with high quality.
• Flexibility: Creativity knows no 9-to-5 rhythm. Even though we value structured hours, you bring the commitment customary in the industry.
