Senior Vehicle Mechanic - Tram & Metro

Are you the mechanic who sees complex faults as challenging puzzles? As a senior vehicle mechanic at GVB, you will work on Amsterdam's most advanced tram and metro systems. You will not only solve problems but also determine if vehicles are safe to be on the road.

What you will do

In our workshops or directly in the city, you will analyze complex, often interrelated faults. You will perform intricate repairs and devise new solutions when standard methods don't work. After each repair, you will test and inspect systems, deciding whether rolling stock can be put back into service.

• Analyzing and resolving complex, interrelated faults
• Performing advanced repairs on tram and metro systems
• Testing and releasing systems after maintenance
• Deciding on the deployment of rolling stock and safety inspections
• Working with mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics

Choose your vehicle

You can work on either tram or metro. For trams, you will work on 227 vehicles, including modern 15G trams. You will work from the Havenstraat depot or resolve faults directly in the city. If you choose metro, you will work on 90 advanced metro trains from Diemen, sometimes even in the metro tunnels themselves.

• Salary between € 2,857 and € 4,051 gross per month (36 hours, scale 7)
• Signing bonus of € 1,500 net under conditions
• Allowances for irregular hours and an MRI allowance of € 208.38 per month

What you bring

• MBO-4 diploma in mechatronics, automotive engineering, or a comparable technical field
• At least 5 years of experience as a mechanic in a technical environment
• Driver's license B (required for breakdown services)
• Willingness to obtain driver's license C (at our expense)
• Independent work attitude combined with team spirit
• Sense of responsibility and focus on quality
