Requirements:

• This role follows a hybrid working model, requiring 2–3 days per week in the Johannesburg office.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, machine learning, or a related field
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with databases or data warehouses
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines for large datasets
• Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, or Hive
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Databricks
• Exposure to machine learning frameworks and deploying or optimising models in production

Nice to have:

• Experience designing scalable data platforms
• Experience with model monitoring, experimentation, or MLOps practices
• Background in predictive modelling, analytics strategy, or advanced statistical techniques
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives
