Do you have extensive experience in operating complex Microsoft SQL Server environments and want to contribute your expertise in a highly available infrastructure? Then we are looking for you as a Senior Microsoft SQL Database Administrator (all genders) for the operation and further development of critical database platforms in our customer's data center. Responsibilities
  • Administration, configuration, and operation of Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Support and further development of SQL Server instances including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
  • Execution of database migrations as well as support for product changes and platform modernizations
  • User and authorization management within the SQL infrastructure
  • Planning, execution, and documentation of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery measures
  • Support and accompaniment of database audits
  • Execution of database script checks as well as controlled execution of productive changes
  • Error analysis and handling of complex incidents in 2nd level support
  • Collaboration with manufacturers in the context of escalations and support cases
  • Execution of patch and lifecycle management measures
  • Analysis of database and system loads as well as continuous performance optimization
  • Capacity planning and ensuring the availability of critical database systems
  • Creation and maintenance of operational documentation, operating manuals, and ITSM documentation
  • Documentation of all activities in the ticketing system
  • Consultation on architectural decisions as well as support for technical planning and further development of the database landscape
  • Creation of reports and evaluations to support operations
Skills
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience as an MSSQL Database Administrator
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT operations or 2nd level support
  • Very good knowledge in:
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012, 2016, 2019 or newer
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
    • Database migrations
    • Both Backup & Recovery and Disaster Recovery
    • Performance and capacity management
    • Database audits
    • Patch and lifecycle management
  • Experience in operating enterprise database environments
  • Experience with IT Service Management processes and ticketing systems and knowledge of current IT security requirements
  • Knowledge of BSI Grundschutz requirements and data protection regulations
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
    • SQL Server 2012 Database Administration or SQL Server 2016 Database Administration or corresponding current successor certification
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    • Data Management and Analytics or corresponding current successor certification
The specialists employed must possess the corresponding SQL Server certifications or equivalent successor certificates. Ideally, you also bring
  • Experience in the environment of federal authorities or organizations close to critical infrastructure (KRITIS)
  • Knowledge of highly available SQL Server architectures
    • AlwaysOn Availability Groups
    • SQL Server Clustering
    • Failover concepts
    • Business Continuity
  • Experience with PowerShell automation
  • Experience with infrastructure and database monitoring
  • ITIL certification
  • Experience in architectural consulting and technical conception projects
