Job Description and Responsibilities
We are growing and hiring a Senior Metal Fabricator to follow architectural and structural drawings, read and analyze blueprints and engineering drawings, assess the materials needed and use a variety of machinery to make the necessary cuts and assemble the fabricated components into complete units.
The Senior Metal Fabricator will act as a technical lead, helping colleagues with quality production.

Responsibilities include:
  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering and production drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Create and construct patterns and guides for customized metal cutting.
  • Operate machinery including brake press, shears, cutting torches and grinders.
  • Assemble, fit and weld metal sections and plates to create complete units or subunits.
  • Install fabricated components in the final product.
  • Monitor quality of fabrication and production and assist other Metal Fabricators as needed.
  • Occasional travel to sites for measurements and installations.
  • Overtime may be required from time to time.
  • Other duties as required & agreed upon.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven experience welding and fabricating, with proficiency working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
  • Journeyman or Red Seal Fabricator designation is an asset.
  • Understanding steel grades, coating types and fabrication procedures as well as installation procedures and requirements.
  • Welding skills, particularly TIG welding.
  • Some experience guiding or training others is an asset.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, turn, etc.
  • Fluent English skills for training others and safety on the work site.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Pay:
  • $45.00 - $52.00+ per hour, commensurate with experience.
