As a senior operations staff member in the financial systems department of the HDFC, you will work in a collegial atmosphere on diverse files at the challenging intersection of policy, execution, and IT. In this role, you will be responsible for process descriptions, authorization management, and the provision of SAP accounts.
You will also proactively and reactively support project leaders within the department regarding improvements in the financial basic administration. Additionally, you will provide secretarial support to the finance user group and participate in the authorization management meeting. The change process to further modernize operations is carried out together with the defense components and takes into account operational, exercise, and deployment schedules. One of the improvements concerns better insight into operational readiness and the associated costs. To this end, the required setup for the basic administration will be mapped out step-by-step to gain insight into the costs and the use of weapon systems, IT, and real estate within Defense. This must then also be documented in clear process descriptions to which you will contribute. This will be done in close coordination with the relevant project leader and the Defense Financial Administration and Management Office.
You are proactive and work closely with colleagues from your own department and from other departments within the Directorate-General Finance and Control. You actively maintain your professional contacts within the various components of the Defense organization and also outside of it. As mentioned, you can connect well but also defend your positions and the interests of the Directorate-General effectively. The department consists of eleven colleagues.

The Ministry of Defense strongly values personal growth and career development and offers numerous opportunities for this. In addition to your salary, you will receive an Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB consists of money (16.33% of your gross annual salary) and time. With the IKB, you make choices that suit you and can assemble a portion of your employment conditions yourself. For example, you can choose to have a portion of your monthly income paid out when you wish. You can also convert this budget into leave or spend it on tax-advantageous purposes.
We also believe it is important that you can combine working at Defense with your private life. Various leave arrangements (e.g., 75% paid parental leave) and flexible working hours contribute to a good balance. It is also possible to (temporarily) reduce your working hours by a few hours per week and build up extra IKB hours. In addition to a pension scheme with ABP, you will receive a monthly commuting allowance or, under favorable conditions, you can opt for a public transport season ticket with unlimited travel throughout the Netherlands. If you only use the public transport season ticket for commuting, you do not have to pay a contribution for it.
