Senior Mechanical Engineer - Lead Design & Compliance

An innovative engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to validate and ensure compliance for mechanical designs. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, technical leadership, and participation in design reviews. Ideal candidates should possess a BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, have at least 10 years of experience within the contracting/project environment, particularly in petrochemical and chemical industries, and proficiency in relevant engineering standards and software tools. Key responsibilities include: • Validating and ensuring compliance for mechanical designs; • Mentoring junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge; • Providing technical leadership and guidance to ensure successful project delivery; • Participating in design reviews to ensure that designs meet the required specifications and standards; • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve potential issues; • Staying up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices.
