Senior Mechanical Engineer

Kier Group are looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our internal MEP business, Kier Mechanical & Electrical (KME). KME work internally and partner with our regional construction business to self deliver MEP solutions across a wider range of sectors. Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire Hours : Full time, Permanent. As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will oversee the installation of the Mechanical elements on your assigned project. What can you expect to be doing? Ensure that all mechanical installations are completed in accordance with the relevant design specifications and industry standards. This includes but is not limited to: - Coordinating with other disciplines (electrical, civil) to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project requirements. - Developing and maintaining project schedules, resource allocation plans and risk assessments. - Conducting site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues. - Collaborating with the design team to develop and implement mechanical installation designs that meet the project's technical and commercial requirements. - Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practices. - Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other stakeholders. - Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers. - Participating in project meetings and contributing to the development of project plans and reports. - Maintaining accurate records of all mechanical installations, including as-built drawings and documentation. What we are looking for: - A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - At least 5 years' experience in a similar role. - Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. - Experience with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD) would be an advantage.
