Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Additionally, in 2024 we were awarded the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, which recognizes the most engaged workplace cultures in the world._ Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Design & Development: * Lead the mechanical design and development of innovative, high-quality products. * Create and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software. * Perform tolerance analysis and ensure designs meet required specifications and standards. * Conduct FEA simulations to validate designs and optimize performance. * Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., electrical engineering, manufacturing, marketing). * Support prototype builds and testing. * Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues. Project Management: * Manage multiple projects concurrently, from concept to production. * Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. * Track project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders. * Identify and mitigate potential risks. * Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Technical Leadership: * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. * Stay current with industry trends and new technologies. * Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices. Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design and development. * Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). * Experience with FEA simulation software. * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding). * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience in the security or access control industry is a plus. * Experience with UL/CE/CSA/ANSI standards is a plus.
