Senior Material Engineer

A materials engineer who is responsible of technical support for raw materials used in Bosch Products (new projects or serial).

Part of a global technical and commercial purchasing organization for raw materials supporting all Bosch Business Sectors. Working with multidisciplinary teams inside Bosch and with external partners.

Regional responsibility will include North America (Canada, U.S., Mexico) and South America (Brazil).

Main activities as:

• Technical support with resins and compounds.
• Main materials: polymers especially thermoplastic (polypropylene, polyamide, etc.) and seals (TPEs, FKM).
• Compounding and molding processes.
• On-site technical assessments of raw materials and processing.
• Trouble-shooting supplier processes to eliminate root causes of material problems.
• Selection of suitable or alternate polymers for new or current component applications.
• Support product development, project purchasing, supplier quality and manufacturing groups selection and coordination of testing for new or alternate materials or substitutes to reduce CO2 output.
• Support localization of materials in North and South America.
• Negotiate Bosch Norms material requirements between suppliers and internal engineering.
• Ensure material releases by supplier meet Bosch Norm requirements.

Position located in Toluca.

Position requires flexibility to travel up to 15-20% within North and South America (Mexico, U.S., Canada, Brazil) and occasionally abroad (Europe, Asia).
