Senior Manager of Creation & Design

Position
We are looking for a Senior Manager of Creation & Design for our Brand Presence team within the Communications and Brand Directorate, to start as soon as possible, full-time (40 hours).
As a Senior Manager of Creation & Design, you will take on the technical responsibility for demanding design projects, provide creative sparring to colleagues, and work closely with the Brand Presence team lead and Brand Management.
Your Playing Field
Concept & Creation:
Independently lead complex design projects: You will be responsible for projects from briefing through visual core idea to rollout, keeping an eye on quality, timing, and applicability.
Visually translate brand strategy: You will develop key visuals, image concepts, and modular design systems that precisely convey narratives and brand identities.
Design cross-medially: You will conceive and realize communication and advertising materials for digital, social media, print, out-of-home, moving image, event, and stadium branding.
Brand Presence & Design Systems:
Further develop corporate and brand identities: You will contemporize existing brand presences and develop new visual foundations as needed.
Systematize guidelines and templates: You will create and maintain design manuals, layout grids, templates, and asset libraries, ensuring consistent application.
Ensure production readiness: You will handle final artwork, image editing, and compositing, and prepare data securely for various production paths.
Project Management, Quality & Sparring:
Confidently manage interfaces: You will coordinate with internal specialist departments, present design decisions comprehensibly, and lead projects to a solution-oriented conclusion.
Accompany agencies and creative partners: You will formulate clear briefings, manage external services, and evaluate results based on defined quality standards.
Provide technical sparring: You will support colleagues with feedback, share methods, and strengthen the creative quality within the team – in close coordination with the team lead.
Optimize brand presence and processes: You will observe relevant design, technology, and industry trends and translate sensible impulses into standards, workflows, and applications.
What makes you a FOOTBALL MAKER*
- Completed degree in communication, graphic, or media design, or a comparable qualification.
- Senior experience: At least six years of relevant professional experience in brand or communication design, ideally in the sports, agency, or entertainment sector.
- Compelling portfolio: Work samples demonstrating conceptual strength, excellent design, and secure cross-media execution.
- Excellent design competence: Very good feel for typography, composition, form language, image aesthetics, color climate, and brand impact.
- Experience with design systems: Proficient in the development, documentation, and cross-media application of modular corporate and brand design systems.
- Conceptual and strategic thinking: You can structure complex content and translate brand strategies into clear visual core ideas.
- Production and process proficiency: Good knowledge of relevant production paths for print, out-of-home, digital, moving image, and event branding, as well as experience with asset and template management.
- Very good tool knowledge: Proficient use of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; Figma as well as After Effects or Premiere are advantageous.
- Project and stakeholder competence: You manage multiple projects in a structured manner, communicate clearly, and present yourself confidently to internal clients, agencies, and partners.
- Feedback and team orientation: You convincingly justify design decisions, provide constructive feedback, and enjoy sharing your knowledge with the team.
- Initiative and flexibility: You work reliably, solution-oriented, and with a high quality standard; you are open to travel and occasional assignments on weekends or holidays.
