Senior Manager Risk and Compliance

Mō te tūranga | About the Role A trusted advisor in operational risk management and compliance for infrastructure services and architecture practices (including data centers, networks, mainframes), supporting squads and Service Groups to manage risk, foster a risk-aware culture, and drive continuous improvement in technology risk practices. The role is pivotal in ensuring Westpac’s infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and compliant, directly impacting operational continuity and risk mitigation strategies. This includes developing and implementing risk management frameworks, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance on compliance requirements to ensure alignment with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of risk management principles, experience working in a similar role, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and maintaining risk management frameworks and policies that align with Westpac’s strategic objectives. • Conducting regular risk assessments and providing recommendations for mitigation strategies. • Providing guidance on compliance requirements to ensure alignment with regulatory standards. • Collaborating with squads and Service Groups to identify, assess, and prioritize risks. • Fostering a risk-aware culture across the organization by promoting awareness of risk management principles and best practices. • Developing and delivering training programs to enhance risk management capabilities. • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure Westpac remains ahead of the curve.
