As Senior Manager Regulatory & Legal Affairs (m/f/d), you shape the regulatory and legal frameworks under which FlixTrain secures access to the German and European rail market - from evaluating railway law developments to representing our interests vis-à-vis authorities and in industry bodies. You create the regulatory basis for fair and economic market access and thus contribute directly to FlixTrain shaping competition on the rails in the long term. In this role, you are part of an initially two-person team focused on regulatory and legal issues.

About the Role

• You monitor, analyze, and evaluate developments in railway law, particularly concerning ERegG, AEG, and relevant EU legislation 
• You analyze and evaluate procedures related to network access and track access charges, and you undertake communication with and procedures before the Federal Network Agency
• From a regulatory perspective, you support strategic network planning 
• You represent FlixTrain's interests in industry bodies and vis-à-vis external stakeholders 
• As an interface, you work closely with the internal teams Network Planning, Public Affairs, and Legal 
• You accompany regulatory legislative processes, occasionally with reference to competition law and public affairs 

About You

• You hold a completed law degree or a degree in economics or political science with a regulatory focus 
• You have five to seven years of professional experience in regulatory or legal activities, ideally in a regulated industry such as rail, energy, or telecommunications 
• Knowledge of German railway law is an advantage, but not a mandatory requirement 
• You are experienced in dealing with regulatory authorities and can present complex regulatory matters clearly and in an audience-appropriate manner
• Very good German and English skills (C1/C2) are part of your profile; further European languages are an advantage 
• A structured, independent way of working and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration complete your profile
