Senior Maintenance Operations Manager (m/f/d)
Job description
In a Nutshell
Our Fulfillment Centers are among the most modern of their kind, supplying thousands of households with fresh groceries daily. Next, we plan to open our brand-new hybrid Fulfillment Center in the Berlin area (Falkensee). Falkensee is one of the first locations where we will be building up our maintenance of automated systems internally. As Senior Maintenance Operations Manager (m/f/d), you will take responsibility for our material handling systems and, together with us, build up our internal maintenance function at the site.
You will be the central point of contact between the automated and manual processes in the Fulfillment Center, the operational teams, your Maintenance Team (consisting of technicians and engineers), and will ensure stable operations, efficient troubleshooting, and continuous optimization of the system landscape.
What awaits you
- Team Leadership: Help build your team of technicians and engineers, lead them in day-to-day operations, and develop your employees both professionally and personally.
- Interface to Operational Business: Work closely with the operational teams in the hybrid Fulfillment Center and ensure that automated and manual processes mesh seamlessly.
- Using Data for Improvement: Work with our analysts to further develop our maintenance strategy – with the goal of minimizing downtime, optimizing preventive maintenance, and making data-driven decisions.
- Managing Contracts & Performance: Be responsible for contracts, key performance indicators, and budgets – including those with external partners.
- Solving and Preventing Problems: Analyze major disruptions, identify their causes, and develop sustainable solutions. Plan inspections and preventive maintenance measures based on guidelines and system data.
- Creating Structures for the Future: Support the establishment of a scalable maintenance organization and advise colleagues at other locations on building new maintenance teams.
What you bring to the table
- Completed vocational training, further training as a master craftsman or technician, and/or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical field (e.g., mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, mechatronics, automation)
- 8+ years of professional experience in a maintenance-related environment or technical project experience in the field of intralogistics (e.g., conveyor technology, AGV, robotics)
- As a team player, you know how to motivate and keep a team together and ideally have 3-4 years of experience in this area
- You have a knack for quickly grasping numerical information and identifying problems before they arise
- You can turn your ideas into successful projects with your hands-on mentality and lead by example
- Fluent German and very good English skills
What you can look forward to
- Individual Mobility: You will receive a company car (also for private use) and can additionally utilize our "Lease-a-Bike" program.
- Time to Recharge: With 30 vacation days per year (for a 40-hour week in a shift system), you ensure the perfect balance between work and rest.
- Catering for Winners: We take care of you. Enjoy a fresh, free breakfast and lunch or dinner every day in our Fulfillment Center, along with plenty of snacks and fruit for an energy boost in between.
- The Basics: We provide you with everything for your success – including a laptop and mobile phone, as well as access to exclusive employee discounts (Corporate Benefits) for travel, technology, and much more.
- Get Started – With Us: Become part of our international team in an environment that fosters real growth and an "Act like an Owner" mentality. With us, you have the opportunity to drive projects independently, test new ideas, and directly witness how your work makes an impact in our rapidly growing company.
- Sustainability at the Core: Become part of the revolution. You contribute to a greener future – through our 100% electric fleet and a supply chain that reduces food waste.
- Unforgettable Moments: We are more than just a team. From our legendary annual ski trip to Christmas parties and performances by our own Picnic Band: we celebrate our successes together.
- Well-being & Balance: We offer you professional support for your mental health with OpenUp.
