Your Role

 

As a Senior Maintenance Manager (all genders), you will be responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of our highly automated production facilities at the Barleben site near Magdeburg. Together with your engineering team, you will ensure that our technical facilities are safe, performant, and available at all times.

In close cooperation with the production, supply chain, and engineering departments, you will develop future-proof maintenance strategies, optimize technical processes, and create the conditions for smooth production. With your leadership skills, technical know-how, and focus on operational excellence, you will make a decisive contribution to the success of our site.

 

Your Area of Responsibility

 

  • You will lead, develop, and inspire a team of Maintenance Supervisors, Automation Engineers, and Technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • You will be responsible for the technical availability of our production facilities and continuously develop our maintenance strategy to sustainably minimize plant downtime.

  • You will manage and analyze relevant KPIs such as plant availability, maintenance costs, and technical efficiency, and derive effective optimization measures from them.

  • You will plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance measures, ensuring reliable and economical plant operation.

  • Together with the production, supply chain, engineering, and procurement departments, you will develop technical solutions for the continuous improvement of our production processes.

  • You will be responsible for the implementation and commissioning of new plants and automation solutions, ensuring that all safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met.

  • You will manage external service providers and suppliers, building long-term, trusting partnerships.

  • You will promote the professional and personal development of your team and support a performance-oriented and motivating work culture.

  • You will ensure compliance with all legal requirements and our standards in the areas of occupational safety, food safety, quality, and compliance.

  • You will analyze technical disruptions, initiate sustainable problem solutions, and lead cross-departmental optimization and investment projects.

  • You will actively participate in site-wide projects and strategic initiatives and help shape the further development of our production sites.

 

Your Profile

 

  • Successfully completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field of study.

  • Several years of professional experience in maintenance or technical management in a manufacturing company – ideally in the food, beverage, or FMCG industry.

  • Several years of leadership experience and enjoyment in developing, motivating, and successfully supporting teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance management as well as the maintenance and optimization of automated production facilities.

  • Experience in KPI management, project management, as well as in the successful implementation of operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented way of working combined with a strong hands-on mentality.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical topics to different stakeholders in an audience-appropriate manner.

  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Google Workspace and experience with Dematic automation systems are advantageous.

  • Good knowledge of relevant standards and legal requirements in the areas of occupational safety, food safety, and compliance.

  • Organizational talent and the ability to set priorities confidently, even in a dynamic production environment.

  • Enthusiasm for Operational Excellence, technical innovations, and the continuous development of people and processes.

  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
