Senior Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to develop, manage and scale predictive systems that support VIS.X – our programmatic advertising platform.

You will take end-to-end responsibility for effective ML initiatives (e.g. price optimization, bid prediction, performance forecasting, delivery optimization) and turn complex business problems into robust, production-ready machine learning systems.

This is a leadership position with potential for leadership development. You will shape our ML architecture, standards and long-term AI strategy and have the opportunity to develop as a leader in the context of expanding our data science capabilities.

YOUR TASKS

• Taking responsibility for machine learning problems from concept to production
• Designing, creating and providing predictive models (e.g. price setting, bids, optimization, forecasting)
• Developing scalable feature engineering and data pipelines for large datasets
• Defining experimentation frameworks (A/B tests, offline validation, model comparison)
• Ensuring MLOps in production quality: monitoring, retraining, drift detection, reliability
• Closely collaborating with DevOps-, product- and engineering teams to align ML with business impacts
• Quantifying the effects of models on revenue, margin and performance KPIs
• Participating in building our long-term ML architecture and best practices

YOUR PROFILE

• At least 5+ years of experience in machine learning/applied ML with production responsibility
• Demonstrated success in providing and maintaining ML systems in real environments
• Fundamental Python knowledge (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
• Fundamental knowledge in statistics, experimental design and model evaluation
• Experience working with large datasets and high-performance systems
• Understanding of MLOps principles (model lifecycle, monitoring, CI/CD integration, retraining pipelines)
• Exceptional problem-solving skills – ability to structure unclear challenges independently
• Ability to implement business compromises in modeling decisions
• Experience in AdTech, marketplaces or auction-based systems is an advantage
• Experience working with large-scale real-time systems is an advantage
