We are looking for a senior developer to maintain and further develop a Linux recovery system for servers in rail vehicles. The task includes the maintenance of a specialized recovery operating system that is used to troubleshoot hardware defects and perform new installations in a challenging mobile environment.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Programming / Implementation / Customizing technical components in applications based on the technologies used, including corresponding interfaces, modules, and databases, while adhering to the standards of the client (e.g. using standardized development environments and programming guidelines)

• Troubleshooting errors from test phases in applications/components

• Documentation of technical components

• Creating system documentation

• Creating delivery packages for the relevant applications

• Analysis of IST systems, applications, and architectures, as well as professional evaluation of their suitability with regard to the defined target architecture specifications

• Conceptualization of functional interfaces between applications and processes

• Configuration of a Linux bootloader (GRUB)

• Development of system functions in a hardware-near environment

• Integration and testing of Linux drivers

• Testing and debugging software applications to ensure that they meet the specified quality standards

• Preparation of a technical documentation of the development process

Must-Requirements

• Very good knowledge of Linux distributions Ubuntu and Alpine Linux with at least 5 years of experience documented in the curriculum vitae

• Very good knowledge in bootloader configuration, demonstrated by at least 3 years of experience

• Software development in Golang with at least 3 current references from the last 5 years

• Software development in Python with at least 3 current references from the last 5 years

Can-Requirements

• Knowledge of network configuration under Linux with at least 3 years of experience documented in the curriculum vitae

• Professional knowledge in the field of BIOS/UEFI, documented in the curriculum vitae by at least 3 years of experience

• Experience in creating documentation using asciidoc or draw.io for at least one year

• Practical experience in development with the programming language C for at least 3 years

• Documented experience in developing embedded systems for at least one year

• Experience in creating GitLab pipelines, documented in the curriculum vitae by at least 3 years

• Documented use of git with at least one year of experience

• Experience in using make as a build system for at least 3 years

• Documented experience in using RAUC for at least 3 years
