Senior - Credit Restructuring Specialist in the International Banking Sector (m/f/d)
Job description
To expand the Risk Department of our client, an international banking institution in the heart of Frankfurt am Main, we are looking for you as:
Senior - Credit Restructuring Specialist in the International Banking Sector (m/f/d)
Responsibilities
- Leading participation in the preparation of the annual recovery plan, definition of recovery goals, strategies, and implementation approaches, as well as coordination of the implementation of approved plans after management approval
- Active participation in communication meetings with all parties involved in restructuring projects to gather comprehensive information
- Analysis of financial reports, restructuring plans, macro- and microeconomic data, industry-specific and other non-financial key figures.
- Identification and assessment of risks associated with potential credit transactions
- Identification, assessment, and quantification of risks associated with credit restructurings, including repayment capacity, restructuring feasibility, and potential risk layering.
- Assessment of the authenticity and sustainability of repayment sources as well as the effectiveness of proposed restructuring measures.
- Preparation, compilation, and presentation of due diligence and risk assessment reports with a clear summary of findings, key points, and conclusions.
- Based on the results of the due diligence review, provide clear, practical, and actionable recommendations to management and credit approval committees.
- Conducting due diligence reviews, including detailed background research and due diligence of clients.
- Ensuring all due diligence activities are in accordance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures
- Collaboration with the Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, and Business departments to drive credit decisions and support management in the implementation of post-restructuring measures
- Building and maintaining contacts with external service providers, including law firms, asset management companies, and valuation firms, as well as coordinating external resources to support recovery and restructuring measures.
- Monitoring industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks related to restructured and non-performing loans
- Ensuring constant communication and coordination with Headquarters to ensure timely compliance with policies, de-escalation of significant matters, and approval of recovery and restructuring measures
Qualifications
- Successfully completed studies in economics or comparable fields of study
- Several years of professional experience in restructuring within the banking or financial sector or at consulting firms
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, especially Excel
- Independent and results-oriented work approach
- Strong analytical skills and structured approach
- Negotiation-level German and English language skills
