Senior Kotlin Platform Engineer (Remote) Join the team responsible for developing the foundations of the Kotlin ecosystem. You will co-create libraries, APIs, and tools used by hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide. This is a role for people who enjoy delving into the details of how the JVM platform works, analyzing standards, designing elegant APIs, and making decisions that have a real impact on the future of technology. Responsibilities Creating and developing key libraries and components of the Kotlin ecosystem. Designing and maintaining APIs used by a wide community of developers. Participating in defining the development direction of Kotlin libraries, tools, and language features. Analyzing and implementing solutions based on international standards (e.g., Unicode, time zones, data formats). Collaborating with a team of experts in making architectural and design decisions. Creating technical documentation, specifications, and change proposals. Optimizing the performance of libraries and APIs for the JVM and modern runtime environments. Researching solutions used in other programming languages and applying best practices in Kotlin API design. Requirements Very good knowledge of Kotlin. Solid commercial experience in JVM programming. In-depth knowledge of Java and the internal mechanisms of the JVM. Ability to design high-quality APIs and software libraries. Experience in analyzing and solving complex technical problems. Ability to create design documentation and justify architectural decisions. Very good knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms. Autonomy, analytical thinking, and attention to detail. Nice to have Experience with implementing or analyzing the Java Standard Library. Experience in performance engineering and code optimization. Knowledge of issues related to Unicode, internationalization, and application localization. Experience in designing and maintaining open-source libraries.
