Senior Kafka Engineer | Confluent & AWS

Who are we looking for? We are looking for an experienced Kafka Engineer to join the Data Platform team and participate in building a modern, hybrid Kafka environment connecting on-premise and AWS. This is a project for someone who knows Kafka and Confluent well, enjoys working with architecture, automation, and the cloud, and wants to have a real impact on the platform's development. Requirements Minimum 4 years of experience with Apache Kafka Very good knowledge of Confluent Platform and Confluent Cloud Practical experience with MirrorMaker 2, Cluster Linking, or Confluent Replicator Experience in building or maintaining hybrid on-premise / AWS environments Knowledge of AWS, particularly VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, MSK, S3, KMS, and Secrets Manager Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code approach Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins Knowledge of Python, Bash, or Ansible Experience with Prometheus and Grafana Knowledge of Kafka security: TLS, SASL, ACL, RBAC Ability to independently solve problems and optimize production environments Nice to have: experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Schema Registry, Flink, Confluent Control Center, OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack, and Kafka integration tests automation. Scope of responsibilities Design and development of hybrid Kafka architecture on-premise ↔ AWS Building and configuration of Kafka clusters, MSK, and Confluent Cloud environments Implementation of data replication between clusters using MirrorMaker 2, Cluster Linking, or Replicator Configuration of Confluent components, including Schema Registry, Flink, Control Center, and Tableflow Creating AWS infrastructure using Terraform Building and developing CI/CD pipelines Automation of deployments and integration tests Configuration of monitoring and observability Optimization of Kafka environment performance, reliability, and latency Participation in incident resolution and runbook creation Collaboration with Data Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams Sharing knowledge and mentoring less experienced team members We offer 1000–1250 PLN net + VAT / day B2B Hypbrid work – only 1 day a month in the office in Wrocław Work on a large, technically demanding Data Platform project Real impact on the architecture and development of the solution Work with technologies: Kafka, Confluent, AWS, MSK, EKS, Terraform, and CI/CD Collaboration with an experienced engineering team Great space for developing competencies in the Cloud, Data Platform, and Kafka areas Interested?
