Senior Java Fullstack Developer with Technical Focus (m/f/d)

YOUR MISSION

As a Senior Java Fullstack Developer with Technical Focus (m/f/d), you will support a major project within the central IT initiatives of the German tax administration. The focus is on a system that manages cross-functional business processes between different specialized applications.

Your tasks

• Development of high-performance backend components based on Java (17/21) and Spring Boot

• Conception and implementation of cross-functional processes and integration into existing system landscapes

• Participation in the development of components for data processing and transformation within large, distributed systems

• Coordination with technical stakeholders and project teams – predominantly remote, with occasional on-site appointments (approx. 1x per month in Kaarst)

• Conception of technical solutions for monitoring and controlling the application (including UI-adjacent backend provisioning)

• Execution of developer tests and ensuring software quality

• Maintenance, support, and continuous optimization of existing software components

• Creation of technical documentation (e.g., operational and interface documentation)

WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO US

• At least 10 years of practical experience in Java development as well as profound knowledge of modern software architectures

• Very good knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot as well as experience in developing scalable backend systems

• Profound experience in the design of microservices, distributed systems, and highly available architectures

• Practical experience in developing frameworks or libraries in the Java environment

• Experience with Camunda (BPMN) and modeling complex business processes

• Very good knowledge of messaging technologies (Kafka/AMQ)

• Profound knowledge of databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) as well as ORM (Hibernate/JPA)

• Experience with REST and SOAP interfaces, XML/JSON processing, and common web service standards

• Confident handling of Linux systems and basic shell scripting skills

• Structured, analytical working method as well as a high quality standard in software development

• Experience in the public sector or in complex enterprise environments is an advantage

• Very good German language skills in speaking and writing (C1 level)
