Senior IT-Project Manager (m/w/d)

Your Role with Us
As Senior IT-Project Manager (m/w/d), you will be responsible for complex software development projects – from handover from sales to project initialization until successful go-live.
You will steer multiple project teams as well as internal and external stakeholders, ensure transparency on quality, budget, and timelines, and make sure that projects are successfully implemented. While combining technical understanding with entrepreneurial thinking and a solution-oriented working approach.
Tasks
- You will be responsible for planning, steering, and successful implementation of complex software development projects regarding quality, budget, and timeliness.
- You will lead multiple cross-functional project teams in terms of content and coordinate internal employees, customers, and external partners.
- You will establish the transition from sales to project implementation and develop a feasible project setup together with the customer. You will clarify requirements, define scope, and ensure a structured project start.
- You will steer projects in multi-vendor environments and coordinate the collaboration of various service providers.
- You will identify technical, organizational, and economic risks early on, take appropriate measures, and ensure active stakeholder management.
- You will accompany projects until successful go-live, ensure high delivery quality, and identify together with the customer potential for long-term cooperation.
- You will prepare steering committees, management reports, and customer meetings professionally and moderate them sovereignly.
Qualification
- Multiple years of experience (min. 3-5 years) in leading complex IT or software development projects.
- Experience in steering multiple project teams as well as different stakeholders in demanding project environments.
- Fundamental knowledge of agile approaches such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe and experience in collaboration with agile development teams.
- Experience at the interface between sales and delivery as well as a good understanding of project calculation, scope management, and economic project steering.
- Experience in steering multi-vendor projects as well as responsibility for budget, quality, and timelines.
- Technical understanding of modern software development (e.g. software architectures, cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD) to work with architects and development teams on an equal footing. A personal developer career is not required.
- Knowledge in handling work contracts and service agreements as well as understanding of quality assurance, test strategies, acceptance processes, and go-live scenarios.
- Proficient use of Jira, Azure DevOps or comparable project management tools.
- Excellent communication, moderation, and conflict resolution skills as well as a sovereign appearance towards customers and management.
- Strategic thinking, entrepreneurial action, and a structured, pragmatic working approach.
- Very good German language skills (at least C1) and good English language skills (at least B2).
You will also score points with:
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master or SAFe.
- Experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or DevOps environment.
