What are  SolidFlow batteries?    

SolidFlow batteries store energy in organic molecules. The avoidance of explosive materials makes them safe, the use of socially and ecologically conflict-free raw materials sustainable, and the virtually unlimited material availability scalable and inexpensive to procure. This makes our patented SolidFlow technology a gamechanger in building a global climate-neutral energy system.    

From Start-up to Scale-up: We'll tackle it together    

CMBlu Energy is evolving from a research-focused start-up to a producing scale-up on the verge of serial production. Around 250 employees at CMBlu Energy are working towards this goal. Our headquarters are in Alzenau, near Frankfurt, with a branch in Obernburg. Additionally, we have subsidiaries in Athens, Greece, and Petaluma, USA.    

Your responsibilities  

  • You will expand our Azure platform – network, identity, compute – as code in Git with review, not by clicking in the portal.  
  • Together with the team, you will ensure that laboratories, test benches, simulation/HPC, and OT can operate quickly and securely from an IT perspective, and you will develop solutions with the business departments that free them up.  
  • You will expand our self-services, from onboarding and offboarding to access requests and provisioning, so that no one has to wait for a ticket.  
  • You and the team will keep our hybrid world running – network, Windows domain, Microsoft 365, virtualization, backup, monitoring – and automate everything that is done by hand twice.  
  • You will integrate security so that it doesn't slow anyone down: identity-first with Conditional Access, MFA and Least Privilege, clean segmentation between Office, Lab, OT and Production, Defender incidents under control.  
  • You will make us resilient with backup and recovery, hardening and vulnerability management, and shape the development of our ISMS as well as secure concepts for AI tools.  

Your profile  

  • Many years of experience in administration, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, a good portion of it with Microsoft 365 and Azure; those coming from AWS are just as welcome  
  • A completed degree in Computer Science, IT Security, or Business Informatics, or an apprenticeship such as IT specialist for system integration – what counts is what you have built and operated  
  • Solid network and system skills: TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, Firewalls, VPN, 802.1X, as well as Windows Server/AD, Entra ID, Linux, virtualization, and backup  
  • Infrastructure as Code as standard: Terraform, Git, CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI), scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python; containers are not new territory  
  • Security as a tool, not a prohibition: PKI, Conditional Access, Least Privilege, hardening, Microsoft Defender; ideally, experience with laboratory or OT environments  
  • Fluent German and English skills and an attitude that allows people to work: rather explain well once than prohibit three times, rather automate than manage
