Senior IT Database Administrator I

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior IT Database Administrator I who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain databases using various database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server. • Develop and execute database migration plans to ensure seamless transitions between different DBMS versions or platforms. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and data warehousing solutions. • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of databases by implementing load balancing, replication, and caching techniques. • Troubleshoot database issues using various tools such as query analyzers, log viewers, and performance monitoring software. • Develop and maintain documentation for database designs, implementations, and maintenance activities. • Participate in the development of data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations. • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in database administration and management. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. • At least 5 years of experience in database administration, preferably in a cloud-based environment. • Strong understanding of various DBMS, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. • Experience with data modeling, entity-relationship diagrams, and data warehousing solutions. • Knowledge of load balancing, replication, and caching techniques to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. • Familiarity with query analyzers, log viewers, and performance monitoring software for troubleshooting database issues. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
