Senior IT Architect (m/f/d)

We are currently looking for a Senior IT Architect (m/f/d) for one of our clients.

• Project location: Bonn

• Period: November 2, 2026 to December 31, 2026

• Work mix: 30 days remote/ 5 days on-site

• Important: Remote work only possible in Germany

YOUR MISSION

Our client is working on the further development of a cloud, focusing on the conception and setup of a central repository for software. Initially, this will be set up for the Open Source Cloud Stack, but concepts and proofs of concept for any software on any platform are to be developed. Functional and load tests for these software products must be conceived and tested in the cloud.

The tasks in detail:

• Analysis of functional and non-functional requirements. Identification of technical frameworks and interfaces.

• Design of system components, interfaces, and data flows.

• Analysis of internal and external dependencies between modules, services, and third-party systems.

• Assessment of the impact of dependencies on maintainability, extensibility, and release cycles.

• Definition of integration strategies, e.g., API gateways, adapters, service mesh.

• Research and evaluation of alternative technologies, frameworks, or products.

• Creation of decision-making bases, e.g., pro/con tables, proofs of concept.

• Risk analysis for migration or introduction of new solutions.

• Creation of a plan for containerization of existing or new components.

• Evaluation of suitability for containerization: statefulness, dependencies, resource consumption.

• Definition of specifications for containerization.

• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.

• Architecture reviews, DevOps support

• Ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security.

• Integration of authentication, authorization, and encryption.

• Implementation of Security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design.

• Technical coordination with development teams, operations, product owners, and external partners.

• Presentation and defense of architectural decisions to management or clients.

MUST-HAVES FOR THIS POSITION

• at least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes applications

• at least 3 years of experience with analysis and evaluation of legacy software for migration into cloud environments

• at least 3 years of experience with requirements analysis and system design of Air Gap container repositories

• at least 3 years of experience with design of test scenarios for migrated legacy software in the target cloud platform

• at least 3 years of experience with code version control / GIT

• at least 3 years of practical experience in DevOps or DevSecOps

• at least 3 years of experience in a Linux environment

• at least 3 years of experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting in productive enterprise infrastructures
