Senior Internationalization Engineer (Technical)

Senior Internationalization Engineer Contract: 12 months (with potential extension based on performance) Client: A leading multinational telecommunications company (name disclosed at interview) Overview: As the Senior Internationalization Engineer, you will drive Client’s i18n strategy, ensuring products are built for global readiness from day one. You will shape standards, guide engineering teams, and embed scalable internationalization practices across all product lines. Responsibilities: Lead the development of a comprehensive internationalization strategy that aligns with Client's business goals; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of i18n best practices into product development; Develop and maintain technical documentation for i18n processes and tools; Provide expert-level support to engineering teams on i18n-related issues; Conduct regular reviews and assessments of i18n implementation across all product lines; Identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvements and implement changes as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; At least 5 years of experience in software development with a focus on internationalization; Strong understanding of Unicode, character encoding, and locale-specific formatting; Experience with i18n tools and frameworks such as ICU, CLDR, and/or ICU4J; Excellent communication and collaboration skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
