Senior Infrastructure Architect / Technical Lead (m/f/d)
Your tasks with us
- As a central technical authority within the infrastructure team, you will take responsibility for the further development of our group-wide infrastructure architecture – from on-premises to hybrid to cloud – and provide technical guidance, without having disciplinary leadership responsibility.
- You will define technical standards for central infrastructure topics such as servers, virtualization, Azure, client management, storage, and backup, and create well-founded decision-making bases for team leads, IT management, and the executive team.
- You will be a technical sparring partner for the infrastructure team and the Infrastructure Team Lead, providing technical guidance on complex issues and supporting through coaching, mentoring, and active knowledge transfer.
- You will work hands-on on demanding infrastructure projects, migrations, and modernization initiatives, conduct architecture and design reviews, and provide support with root cause analysis, problem management, and technical escalations.
- You will be responsible for the technical further development of our Microsoft Azure and hybrid architectures, support Modern Workplace topics such as Intune, Endpoint Management, Identity Management, and tenant harmonization, and evaluate new cloud technologies in terms of suitability, cost-effectiveness, and strategic benefit.
- You will ensure stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure platforms, further develop server, virtualization, and data center architectures, and integrate Security-by-Design as well as requirements from ISO 27001 and NIS2 with Security into our infrastructure projects.
- You will drive standardization, automation, and ITIL-oriented operating models, further develop technical roadmaps, runbooks, and documentation, and work closely with Security, Network, Data Center, Client Management, Development, and external service providers.
What you bring to the table
Must-have requirements
- You have several years of experience as a Senior System Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Infrastructure Architect and have already technically supported or further developed complex infrastructure environments.
- You have very good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Windows Server and can confidently use them in modern infrastructure architectures.
- You have good experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, as well as with enterprise networks, and understand their interplay in hybrid IT landscapes.
- You are familiar with Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Management, and backup and recovery concepts, and have experience in infrastructure migrations and modernization projects.
- You consistently think about infrastructure from a Security by Design perspective and have a good understanding of relevant compliance requirements, e.g., ISO 27001 and NIS2.
- You communicate clearly, confidently, and in an audience-appropriate manner, and enjoy passing on your knowledge, technically guiding colleagues, and collectively developing standards.
- You speak fluent German (C1) and good English (minimum B2).
- You reside in Germany.
- You have experience with automation and ideally with Infrastructure as Code.
- You have Microsoft certifications or comparable qualifications.
- You have already worked in hybrid cloud environments and are familiar with monitoring or observability solutions.
- You have a basic understanding of Kubernetes and Linux.
- You have experience in international corporate structures and can confidently navigate complex, distributed IT organizations.
