We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Industrial Mechanical Engineer who will join our Mechanical and Piping Team. In collaboration with the Energy and Resources team, the incumbent will be called upon to assume responsibility for a multitude of multidisciplinary projects primarily in the Oil and Gas and Mining sectors. Initially this position will be taking a primary role in the design of gas processing plant, materials handling, and pressure / process piping projects across western Canada. As the team grows the role will gain more leadership responsibilities, including the oversight of junior engineers and EIT’s.

These skills combined with excellent business acumen will be key in growing our Western Canadian team.

This role can be located in any of our Western Canada offices, including Rossland, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina or Saskatoon.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate and produce various deliverables including specifications, drawings, and technical reports in line with project needs;

  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off on deliverables;

  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients

  • Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates

  • Coach, guide and mentor more junior engineers on the team –

  • Complete technical peer reviews

  • Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources

  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining capital projects

  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies

  • Development & implementation of proposal scopes of work and budgets

  • Complete site surveys depending on the needs of the individual project
